That is one hell of a complicated shape. It's a shame that athey will have to be covered in paint. Your metalshaping with hand tools video is extremely educational., I am really trying to learn how to do this. Keep up the great work!

You have some "MAD" skills and Talent, I played a little with the Bead roller to make patch panels for my 38 fender lips including the wire form edge with out the wire, it took a bit of trial and error finding the right combination of Dies availabe with the Bead roller

Thanks, you are right these are some of the most complex panels I have worked on. I am glad you found the DVD informative.

Thanks for the nice comments. I do all my wire edging with a hammer and dolly. With panels this size it's not possible to feed it into a machine. I always do the wire edging last on a patch repair.

I am not sure most people can really appreciate the time and effort, along with patience that goes into what you did with these fenders(wings). Especially with TV shows showing them rebuilding entire cars in a few days...which any craftsmen knows is bunk.

Solid work to be proud of, at any price!

Cheers Jim, they are very complicated panels with double reverse curves, reverse curves with swages, and the peak in the middle. Of course the more complex the panel the more sections it gets made from.

Thanks for looking and taking time to comment. If there are fifty people working on a car for a week that is fifty weeks work. I cringe at some of the metalwork I see on those shows.

I cringe every time as well, but not from being a metal expert. lol
But, I've built enough cars to know how long it takes for materials like primers, paint, clear, weatherstrip adhesive and other things to set. Not to mention the unforeseen issues that crop up during ***embly that even the best expert can't foresee.

They are fun to watch, just wish they were realistic versions of reality TV.

I just noticed where you are from. That's the one place I have been to in the USA. Pity I did not meet you.
