Hey guys. I just found my village idiots sticker in a stack of magazines my pops sent me out here in good old Virginia. Getting all kitted up to head out for kuwait with my unit. Hope all is well on tuesday nights, wish I could be there.

I didnt even think of that! Only bad thing is it wont stick to the canvas cover and if i put it on the helmet itself no one will see it. Maybe I'll just stick it in some random middle eastern place so someone can wonder what the hell it means. Worldwide exposure!

 

How about putting it on the front windshield of one of the Hummers!

 

then send us a picture of it. take care over there. make sure you get back here safe. if need be "run forrest run!!!!!" or i guess it would be more like "swim forrest swim"

I'll try to get it stuck up on my boat, my squad leader is hot-rod guy too. The command tends to frown on personal stuff on the boats though. They had a fit when we all copied the full metal jacket quotes on our gentex COMM. helmets. Ha, its kinda hard to swim with 6,000 pounds of battle rattle, kevlar and a weapon; but I'll do my best to stay out of the way if anything comes at us. Have a good one guys. Maybe sooner...got a couple buddies helping me out..no more camaro clip, back to original frame and installed a No Limit IFS, motor and trans going in on Friday!! Will post pics here soon...

 

Village Idiots is Tuesday,March 4th! Any of you guys plan on coming? How about the "regulars"? The weather is finally nice. At the rate of about 250 new members a month,there should plenty of FNG's that might want to come and meet some HAMBers!

Yeah I know! We actually fired it up for the first time today since Ive owned it! (3 yrs.)...Was bitchin'!!!Im planning on driving it Sunday to the Pomona swapmeet...thats the plan!

Believe it or not, i was planning on coming this month. I was really looking forward to it, but i just popped the motor in the wagon

 

Popped as in "blew" or popped as in "just put in a new motor"? Inquiring minds want to know.

 

Oh, you want the long story do you? The engine was running ok, smoking a little and had valvetrain noise when climbing hills, and took a few cranks to start in the morning. I figured i would be responsible and just replace the lifters instead of running thicker oil and all that and rebuild the carb while i was at it. I pulled the top end apart (its an F.E. so its a real bitch) and once i was inside, i knew i had done the wrong thing. This supposed 28000 mile car had 228000 miles of buildup inside the engine, scaly black crap. I did my best to plug all the holes going to the lower part of the engine, and proceded to clean the top end. put the lifters in and got it all primed up, then fired it. It wanted to start right up, then stalled and took a long time to get started again. Adjust timing, and it starts again. Got it running good and it developed a knock just as i was pulling out of the driveway at my parents house. A real heavy death knock, plus the minor smoke issue has turned into a large smoke issue under accel. and at idle. So i am in the F.E. market......

 

That's a pisser....sorry to hear the news. Old cars are fun, huh?

 

thats alright....ill tell you one thing, i am looking forward to replacing the engine on that old car waaay more than i ever did driving that damned pickup that i had. only bad thing about it is it will push back my magazine release (i had planned to go to print today
