    ok so they called me about a lady selling a 52 chevy truck with no bed and no tranny. i havent seen it in person but my girl says its a cali truck that has been sitting in a barn/covered for the past who knows how many years. the lady doesnt know if its a half ton or what. i never had a truck so i have no idea about the vins. looked over at stovebolts site but the vin the lady gave me isnt like the one they list (2#3letters5numbers) so anyone know what kind of truck this is....

    engine number... kba236973
    body type... 2b52pu
    type veh... 32p

    they have the id card from the 60's i think so thats all my girl wrote down on a paper...

    any ideas with that or you guys need more numbers...

    and she wants $500 but is hard up for cash so i was thinking about $350 because of the no bed/rear bumper and missing tranny.

    ohh yea they say its a shortbed so that leads me to believe 1/2 ton..

    thanks..

    "KBA":
    Assembly Plant (Flint, MI); 6 cyl. - 216 cu. in. - 92Hp -6.6:1 compression

    "body type... 2b52pu":
    I don't find any such series of numbers. There should be a code number of four digits, such as "3104" (Light duty pickup) or maybe a Series number, such as "KP" (Commercial - 1/2T Truck)

    "type veh... 32p":
    "3" = Assembly Plant ("3"= St. Louis, MO.)
    "2" = Should be a letter - if it's a 1952, it should be a "K"
    "P" = Series (P=3100 - Light duty, 116" wheel base)
    Should have additional numbers identifying the production sequesnce, starting with "1001"

    Hope that helps,
    Bob
