Can anyone tell me if a '31 Ford has a VIN number and location, or was it just on the engine?? Thanks, Kathy
It's stamped on the driver side frame rail, just behind the firewall, underneath the body. If your car has the original engine the frame is stamped with the same number.
Some states required a tag be placed in the drivers door area. The reason being, alot of engines were changed out and it was the only way to trace them with the stamped frame rail being under the body.
