Anyone out there still using one for their dragster?? I have a bunch of trailer parts/etc. Considering building one, instead of the usual lot. Any pictures out there. Id like one like Jim Dunn had in the movie "Funny-car Summer" Regards. Al
About 10 years back I bought a 1972 enclosed dragster trailer with the sloped rear door so it is the same era as Funny Car Summer but, for a digger instead so it is shorter and longer. It is the narrow kind with fenders. Ended up changing it extensively though to fit my 225" slingshot. Lengthened 5' and added a 3rd axle so it would tow better. Custom ordered the side paneling in the length I needed so there would be no verticle seams. I tow it with my '61 Catalina Safari. They are easy to back up because they are narrow and you do not need giant mirrors either on your town car. If you go to the nostalgia drags, there are still quite a few in use in the lower classes. I am the only one I know of still using that style with a Fueler.
I need on to tow my digger behind my ramp truck, then I can race the gasser and the digger at the same meet!
