I am getting my 63 Ford Galaxie Factory Lightweight 427 engine broken in. I have to run the engine with the stock 427 headers to break in the engine. After the engine is broken in I am going to install Chrome Ceramic Coated Hooker Headers as a Day 2 Restoration aftermarket add-on. My car back in the day ran Hooker Headers and a Mallory ignition system. The problem I am having is with the NOS Mallory Magspark Distributor and Magneto Transformer I am installing. The Mallory MagSpark distributor has both a Centrifical and Vacuum advance. The engine runs way far advanced when running and I cannot get the timing within the 427 Timing Pointer numbers, however, when the vacuum diaphragm rubber cylinder is taken out of the distributor the engine timing is at the top end advance on the pointer. Any suggestions from anyone who has run this setup. The Magspark Distributor and Coil are a matched set with TWO large wires running from the Mag Transformer to the distributor. Any suggestions regarding this setup? This setup is Vintage and possibly was run on my car during the 1960's. Thank You- Robert Larson
