    Hey Guy's and Gals:

I am in Durant Ok on our way to Austin, about half way across OK we thought it would be nice to turn on the AC. Yeah just to stall all of the smart ass comments, WE ARE OLD AND WE ARE WIMPS. So there is no need to remind us.

I have PM'ed Mick (Stray Kat) as I think he lives around here somewhere. I would like to get it looked at in the AM to find out what the problem is and if possible get it fixed. If not we will tough it out, it didn't have air when it was new so I guess we will live through it.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Bump for this poor, sweaty bastid!

  3. Any shop that does ac should be able to help you if it's low on freon. Have you done a quick trouble shoot to see if it's something other than low pressure? Marc's garage in Fort Worth is an installer for VA.

I remember the a car that had ac in the sixties when the compressor lit up is was like a Jake Brake. Todays Sanden compressor I hear has very little parasitic drag. Good luck with your conversion, it only means you'll drive it more!

It's late, I re read your post, good luck with the fix.

Bob, call VA, they can help you do a quick diagnosis over the phone, plus they can tell you where their closest dealer/installer is.

We were at Shane's shop this morning and he vacuumed evacuated the system and refilled it and all is good, found that one of the Schrader valves was a little loose, that was prolly the culprit. Thanks Shane and Stray Kat for the lead, we now have cold air. DSC03381.JPG

If you look real close you can see the COLD air coming out of the vent.

    See everybody in Austin
