Is this turn signal switch self canceling, or do you manually turn the little wheel to self cancel?

A buddy gave me this and I've been playing with it...pull the lever down or push it up and then turn the little wheel and it self cancels. Is it supposed to cancel automatically or are you supposed to turn the little wheel every time to cancel...if so, it seems kinda silly.

It's an Auto Lamp 9000...inquirin' minds...

I think the wheel rides on the steering shaft or back of the steering wheel somehow.

  3. Yup. Clamp it up so that the wheel rotates against the steering wheel. Then be frustrated because the lil' ****** self-cancels WAAAY before you turn...
