Motion Pictures Vintage footage WITHOUT background music?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Richard D, Jun 2, 2010.

  1. Seems everytime I see old hot rod or drag racing footage, there's music dubbed over it. I'd prefer to hear the engines, or at least some music a middle-aged guy like myself would recognize, not the latest "Psycho-Greaser-Billy" stuff(no offense if that's you thing). Anyone got some video clips without the over-dubbing?

if it was shot on 8mm film, it didnt have sound till the late 70's, even then it wasnt very common.

I'm doing some 60s/70s 8mm film from Sanford Dragway.. Make'n DVD. I thought about that... I have no idea what would be good for the background. I do have some audio of real early drag racing but would not be in sink with film...
    Ideas wanted!

  4. Maybe some commentary, info on the cars on the screen? I usually just turn off the sound if it's some band I don't recognize; I'm stuck in my ways(grumpy) and don't care to try new things.
