In the 50s n 60s,here in Miami ,Miami Beach an Ft Lauderdale,we had most years, 6+ indoor shows. Some by car clubs, some by Promoters. We had indoor places that were not out of site to rent for community events.* Miami/Coconut Grove, had Dinner Key Auditorium, an City of Miami had Bayfront Park Auditorium, Ft Lauderdale War Memorial Auditorium, and Miami Beach Convention Center.*
All are gone, bulldozed an land sold { to fill pockets of Politicians /kick backs for selling ,for things like Hotels n alike. Except MB Convention Center> but even that after a big deal rebuild is totaly out of site cost wise $$$$$$$ for any event that could be though of as ,community done.
NO MORE IN DOOR CAR SHOW.
    In south Fla.

I'm guessing its a thing going on in other places n states too.
Cost of renting, big indoor spots, also went up in part,do too adding AC in the mix as well..We had big air fans for cooling back then=The car show ticket buyers who came; many did not have AC at home ether.
My first school class, that had AC,was in Collage,in the new*building on campus.
Too bad,I really enjoyed putting my cars into the shows, some for 3 days at a time. It was a life of meeting other car builders from all over the USA,trading idea an in some cases art work too.. DinnerKey ShowDanaJ.jpg
