My dad just bought this cool old house. The front building of the house was a general store thats at least 75 years old. The back house part was built on probably sometime in the 50's. It sits on 1.10 acres and even has a metal 32x48 garage/ building.
OMG, your home is so AWESOME! I LOVE Craftsman style. Yours would be my dreamhome. How about photos of the interior..... if you feel comfortable with that.
Holy cow! I think that most of us are ready to pour gas on our modern houses and burn em' down. Were not worthy!
Not really a "house," but an vintage apartment I just bought for my daughter in Chicago. It's a 1959 midcentury modern high rise on Lake Shore Drive overlooking Belmont Harbor & Lake Michigan, about 5 blocks from another neat old house - Wrigley Field.
Mine was built in 52'. Ranch with walkout basement covered from tip to tip in stucco, And a one car garage.
lately i've been in so much trouble at home, i just decided to run away. i'm hoping to hide out here until the circus comes to town. Maybe they will have an opening. in case any HAMBers want to visit, i'm in the 3rd stall from the left.
There's a garage at each end, in between is a family room/den, bathroom, and extra room. There's even a bomb shelter. But for shop space I'm looking at retro fitting the pole barn and maybe add a metal building in the woods.
I'll have to get some decent pics but we just bought a brick cape built in 1946. We're in the process of doing some remodel work now.
Just this week, a new thing for Ga is that if you have an old Ranch House, it could qualify for a listing on the National Registry of Historic Buildings. Thought that was pretty neat.
Mine is a '49. It was a personal home of a building contractor; 62 years old and we (wife and I) are the 2nd owners. It has an attached 2-car garage with breezeway, a finished basement, a 26' x 54' shop in the back yard with alley access, and a knotty-pine den with fireplace. I am stoked to live here.
