Does anyone know anyone that makes one? I have a 29 Indiana plate, and its smaller than the new ones. Thanks.

  2. Socal does the long skinny one. What does your plate measure?

Kanter sells a repop trombone frame that will fit about anything.

I have a hacksaw and some JB Weld, we can make one any size you want!

Seriously though, I have never seen a short frame. I have a short 29 plate, but have never seen a frame for them. The longer ones are common but not so much for the short ones.

I have the So-Cal vintage frame and the trombone frame and neither one fits early Colorado plates. Is there a vender selling old and/or restored frames?

Swap meet or ebay is your best bet.
Some old plates only had a "topper". (It just attaches to the top of the license plate.)

I picked up a pair for my plates at a swap meet for $20.

Make your own with brake line, some chevy valve cover bolt tabs and braze it together, then chrome it.

Here's a reproduction topper that I "antiqued". still would like a frame.

  10. I like what Denis4x4 posted. I've thought about making my own tag topper just for grins. Any one out there making any interesting period toppers? Maby from the WWII era. Like "AXE the AXIS!" or "Remember Pearl Harbor", "Kill a Commie for Christ", etc
