Man, I need to get my Mini out of the rafters!

Anyhoo, I was working this years model contest at the Good Guys Del Mar show and I noticed that the Pedal Car part of the show is pretty much dead and brought that up to the attention of the powers that be. I lamented the fact that pedal cars are not as cool as Mini Bikes and should instead be a Model Car Contest and Mini Bike Show!

They kinda liked the idea and wanted to know what kind of support was out there for it, so I now ask you, would those with tricked out Mini Bikes be interested in a Mini Bike contest at GG events?

This is nothing against Pedal Cars, but, they just do not show up anymore.

Thoughts? Maybe a Mini Bike Enduro in the parking lot?

I'm sure I could rally the troops, especially if there is a race invloved.

  7. What is a Heald Bronc fat tire bike worth minus engine? I found one at the Chickasha OK swap meet and did not buy it but took the guys phone number and got on line to figure out what it was, now wishing I would have bought it....

Like anything, it's worth what someone is willing to pay you for it.

i put together a rupp for my boy's... man these things get expensive quick. I put this together on a budget.. its not the original motor or clutch but it runs great especially since it will get dropped as they learn to ride it.

The guy that owns the proerty is talking about hosting a "hot-rod picnic".
    No details yet.
I'm hoping for a "cruise-in" type of thing.
The mini-bike thing has kind of a family picnic flavor. A fun place to swap lies. The race track is also used for kart races.
Winners of the mini-bike races, Mothers Day '09 ranged from 17-85 yrs old!

Mini bikes can get expensive if you go for factory correct parts instead of just making a runner...

I am in the process of putting one back together. On the frame I believe it has a big R so I was thinking Rupp. I also found a sticker that says Cat 400 on it. I did a search on both and have not found one like mine yet.
One question I have is on the brakes. You can get a band and pin from Northern Tool. Do you need a drum to go on the motor shaft or can you use the outer housing from the centrifical clutch? When I was 10 or so years oldI didn't pay any attention to these things, just gas and go. If you need a picture to help ID my Mini let me know. Thanks Keith

  19. These two aren't mine but I see them every year at the World War Two Airshow in Reading, PA. This year the show is June 5, 6 & 7. The show supports the MidAtlantic Air Museum. Check it out here (http://www.maam.org/). Gate prices are $22 for adults. A B-17G is the big plane this year. Fifi, a B-29, was here a few years ago.

Per the owners, each was developed to be airdropped with the troops. I can't recall if either bike was ever deployed or saw action.

The third is a shaft drive Indian that was developed for the Army. The Indians were delivered just as the war ended. I think Indian folded shortly after.

    Enjoy!!

Here are a couple of pictures I snapped tonight. I just started to put some paint on and I had to see how my new seat looked. Can anyone tell me what I have? I have a 6.5 hp OHV Briggs that fits real nice with the exception of the gas tank. I am in the market for a small one from a vintage lawn mower.

I am getting it ready for the mini bike drags at the Rust Revival

They have a good selection of old school minibike parts, but you'll need to find a dealer as they don't sell to the public.

Sir Winston Churchill said something similar in the 1930s.

He was drunk at a party, and a society dame (whom he disliked) disgustedly said, "You're drunk!".

Wherein he replied, "I may be drunk, but I'll be sober in the morning. You, however, will still be ugly in the morning".

    (by memory)
