this is the current carb setup. its a Tillotson hw-10a, they currently are building a custom hw-10a that will have a check valve to prevent backflow through the carb(it leaks on the ground from the airhorn after being run) , a solid butterfly to help idle, and its supposed to be a double stack diaphram pump on the carb so i can eliminate the external.
Hey gang, Got some bad news late last night about Phoenix H.A.M.B.er Landseaandair. Seems he was out rollin' around on his mini last night about dinner time and took a pretty severe tumble that netted him a broken knee and collarbone. He spent last night in the hospital but is expected to be released today.
Woah...that blows! These things seem harmless enough, but they can kick your ass! Be careful out there...
Built the gokart for my grandaughter when she was a year old and the blue mini for my grandson that just turned a year old .They have awhile before they can ride. The red mini is a alexander reynolds I just finished and the other black bike is a rupp hustler. they are going up for sale Enjoy the PICS FRANK
Yep, banged myself up pretty good. Upside is the bike only got two small scuffs in the paint but I'm gonna be down for a while. Here's what might be the most expensive Cat 400X ever, lol.
Well done man! Sorry to hear of your crash, but good to hear you poke a bit of fun at it too. That has to be damned expensive CAT400X! Bet you didn't get too much sympathy when you told 'em how you came to your sad state of affairs, either. "I fell riding on my minibike" just never sounds as romantic as "I wrecked my Harley". Heal well dude, and if I can help you in any way let me know.
Thanks for the concern, all I really need is time and there was a lot of "what's a mini bike?" and "how fast were you going?" till I got home.
I flipped the Go Kart a few years ago had a bad case of road rash. I was standing in line at the bank a day or so later and a an elderly lady waiting behind me said, "Oh dear, you really hurt yourself. How did it happen?" I smiled and said I flipped my Go kart mam! she stepped back three big steps and wouldn't make eye contact with me again...
Glad you're ok. I think we found a place that will let us run minibikes and go karts for the White Knuckle Scramble, but everyone will have to wear a full face helmet, gloves boots and rugged clothes, if not a race suit (we are working out those details)
Hye gang, just thought I wouldgive this a quick bump with this. one of our local mini bike guys is having a yard sale at his shop on Saturday the 1st. It's at Tuf-Enuf racing engines 3209 n. 107th Ave. Avondale, Az. 602-877-8553 I'm gonna pickup Ron Olmstead in the morning on Saturday and head out and see what he has.
Here's my Cat 250X that I picked up tonight. Big plans ahead I'm calling her "Oly Roller" and am going with a Olympia Beer theme/paint. Representing my hometown.
Get an Olympia beer mini keg for a gas tank... and post an introduction (it's the polite thing to do).
Here's my fresh purchase. A truckload of 1971 Ropers. My research tells me they were sold by Sears. If you know any more, feel free to let me know. Chip didn't do a good enough job of talking me out of it.
Dude, if you were lookin' to me to talk you out of it - you brought the wrong guy! Bringing ME along as "THE VOICE OF REASON" is about as poor an idea as man has ever dreamed... You're lucky we weren't trying to load his '46 Ford truck to bring it home! Look at my back yard for Christsake!
Oh yeah, I know. I don't think they'll ever make a medication that will fix us people, and if they do we probably won't use it until they figure out how to make it gasoline scented. But seriously, we need to go on a rescue mission for that 46, before it gets plopped on a Dodge frame. Damn it, I am sick.
Got the blue Roper running and riding on Sunday. It didn't take much. Chip and I rode it around a bit. Got the orange Roper running and riding today. Just had to clean up the carb, and shorten a chunk of chain. Got it together enough for a test spin. Runs good. Both DESPERATELY need bearings all over the place. Fun stuff.
Nice ropers....i got a bunch of mini s in the garage...been too busu to fool with em....hopefully this winter that will change Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
Ive got to find a good place to buy wheels and tires for mine. The orginals werent much bigger than the sproket which was integral to the wheel. Wheel was rusted and I fubar'd it. Nice mini's everyone.
Yeah, they're pretty cool to look down at and watch work too. A little cutting and cleaning of the mount plate to get rid of those cover mount tabs would probably go a long way. I have a 3rd one on the orange bike with no wheels if either of you are wanting to test fit one.....
