Picked this one up recently. As far as I can see it is a Deltek Rockhopper. Please correct me if I am wrong. Torn between getting it running or full resto. Always wanted one. So many cool bikes in this thread for inspiration.

Texas outfit, they do alot of mail order .
Projects seem to have gone way up in price lately. There are a few guys that sell vintage style frames to build.

I loved this minibike, it had a Homelite chainsaw engine and it would go down the road at 40 mph. Wish I had one like it. Scan 5.jpeg

Hi guys. First time posting on The Antiquated section. Maybe we're not so strict on the cutoff year for mini bikes? I'll put this up, if it doesn't fit, delete it the heck out of here.

11 year old Zander comes to the farm. Works hard with his dad and me. And has plenty of fun. I've known him since he was 8. I enjoy having him around. We laugh a lot. He likes things with wheels and motors. Go karts, mini bikes, my old car.

Searched for a good mini bike for him that he can ride around the farm. Looked at all of them. Found this one. About the same size as a Baha, but different from all the others I've seen. Not real vintage, about 15 years old. But they don't make 'em anymore. A Trail Sport Buffalo. Kind of a triangular chopper style frame. 6.5 HP Tecumseh. 30 series torque converter. It was adult owned by a man who rode it on his farm for a couple of seasons, then stopped using it. Ended up behind a bunch of stuff in his barn. Sat for a long time. Still looks good, and with the new carburetor, runs good, too.

Zander found it under the Christmas tree out in the garage this year with a couple bicycles. He's happy LOL.

He and I are already talking about changes we might make to it. A different front fork with suspension. Maybe a swing arm and shocks for the rear. A more classic looking round chrome headlight. A real gas tank to replace the fake one. Bigger carburetor, exhaust pipe. I'll let him ride it the way it is for a while this coming season, and then start making the changes so that he can be involved in and experience the improvements.

    Sorry about the bad pics.
Took one with a little better light. Taking a look at the torque converter and carburetor and a couple other things right now. Preventive maintenance. Make sure everything's good before Zander starts riding it.

  11. I bought this Bonanza from the original owner a couple years ago. It burns oil and smokes. I just got it running again after my son ran it out of oil and it locked up. It’s a blast and will go faster than I’m brave enough to go. It becomes unstable at 31 mph but has more left. That’s as fast as I’ve had it.
I’m in need of a rear wheel cog for it if anyone has any leads.

Hate to be a pest but...this time I'm bidding on a on-line auction near Appleton WI. and should I win it would be handy if someone near there could pick the minibike and hold it until Thanksgiving when I could pick it up.
