Hey folks, I am working on restoring/ customizing a pretty tired looking 1932 Ford Roadster pedal car. However I’m stuck and I was wondering anyone had some advice on my situation. I am trying to take apart the front axle assembly to straighten and remove some rough edges. Also so I can really get in there and clean and degrease the parts for a black oxide coating. This doubled headed nut that I assume has been pressed on, but unsure is my issue. Does anyone know what it’s called and how to remove it? I don’t want to mess with it until I understand what I’m looking at. Pictures of the
Looks like a rivet . You’ll have to grind either the head or the smashed end off . Then it will fall out . Might have to tap it out with a punch and hammer

Just to bump this thread to the top. I got this 1934 Steelcraft Chrysler years ago from it's original owner. He was only 4 years old when he got it. Let's see more pedal car pic's.
The beginning of my love for cars…..The car was yellow, I could get it going fast enough to do a U turn and get the inside wheels off the ground. My sister got it brand new for Christmas but I drove it all the time.
AACA museum has a neat display of vintage peddle cars right now. Stop by when you are at the cars show next week.

Me in a Mustang peddle car with my grandfather in their Kitchen in Dallas. Got my love of cars from him and my Uncle. Grandfather restored Madel As, Ts, Packards, Edsels and Thunderbirds.
Our newest member to our family Roni. She’s taking a ride in our little pedal car that I found in a farmers dump over 40 years ago. I’ve used it for all my kids, now for all my grandkids too. It has a pull handle made from an adjustable tent poll and wagon handle.
Congrats Ron on another new grandkid. How many does that make? One thing is for sure...when they're at grandpa's house, there will never be a shortage of toys to play with Looks like that pedal car is a Garton '37 Ford...did a "woody" station wagon version many years ago.
Jack, Roni is our 5th. But I'm hope'n for some more. lol Great job on your woody! I'd like to do that, and have it pulling a murry pedal boat.
I don't have any exactly like yours Jim. I think it's like the one with the Texaco gas pump. But it is a Murray Fire truck , and was probably made more than just 3 years? What ya think Jack?
