when we were younger and it was illegal to play a pinball at the bowling alleys (had to be 18) one of our friends (George) talked his parents into buying one and we played his machine in the basement for years. It was a Gottlieb SING ALONG from 1967. George died in 1989 and we didn't know what happened to the pinball until his brother contacted me and gifted it to me and now it sits in my basement since 1997. In fact Mark @Moriarity was one of the guys that helped carry it downstairs.

Very neat machine. Vintage pinball and arcades are always neat. Friends dad has one of these from 70s? Suppose to be pretty rare. Some jet fighter shooter, have half the screen working at the moment. IMG_0250.JPG

  4. That is really cool! There is a Pinball museum in Alameda, Ca that has several hundred that you can play for free. They even hold a yearly show where they bring them all out to play.

    Cool. I have a Bally Amigo (1974).
Mark I gotta ask, don't mean to be a prick and fortunately hardly any Hambers will see this but . . . I always thought that The Antiquated had a 1965 cut-off also. Yes?
Honestly, I don't have a dog in the fight, don't really care what the answer is, just curious.

  6. OK now I need a pinball machine in my basement. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have a Gottlieb Genie widebody in my basement. I got it in 1988 and had it in the dining room of my first apartment. It’s been moved a few times and upgraded with a couple of new boards but to electronic failures but still works great! IMG_4104.jpeg

My parents got this one at a swap meet somewhere in California sometime in the 80's, and growing up it always sat on the porch or in the garage and my brother and I had lots of fun with it. It still works, but needs a good servicing. Waiting to have a pinball repair man down in Houston work it over and need to find a better spot of floor for It so the kids can enjoy it.

It's a Gottlieb "Target Pool". The paint on the glass and the sides is getting a little flaky. I'm the type that would rather see it fully restored, but am happy to lacquer over the patina too if it will preserve the original paint.
