Years ago I used a ridge reamer that was a top mount so you could ream with the piston in the engine. It had 3 surface mounts. Who made that. Its similar to the blue ridge BUT those are not large enough. I need a 4.25" bore.

  2. I did a search on Ebay for "cylinder ridge reamer" and got 107 hits, all with pictures. I think the 4.25 is going to limit you.

  3. My AMMCO 2100 goes to 5"

The 2100 is the wrong kind of reamer. I need a top down type

  5. I have a ridge reamer made by Lisle, and it is capable of cutting to 5 inches. I have had the unit for over 30 years, so I don't know if the same unit is still available.
After re-reading your post, you stated that you need to cut from the top. I don't know if that is possible, because the cutter won't be square to the cylinder.
You can ream the cylinder with my unit, all you have to do is run the piston to the bottom of its throw. There is plenty of room for the self centering mount.
I have been very satisfied with the Lisle cutter.

  6. There is one for sale on epay, and the bid is now at $9.00.
Do a search and you will find quite a few.
