Root , I’m thinking You have the perfect foundation for a vintage RV Your pickup . Toss some wooden bows in the stake holes , stretch a canvas over them and Your ready for the open road

I almost think on the bigger rigs a frame swap onto a MH chassis might be cost effective. Trying to find the parts required to restore some of the old antiquated braking and suspension stuff might be quite difficult and expensive. I have no real knowledge of the big iron though….
Root , I’m fortunate to still have a locally owned parts store . The owner is willing to take the time and look up parts for our farm trucks built in the mid to late 60’s . If I had to go to the big name stores I’d be out of luck .
Worst part is the gearing on these old big trucks. Just put a 14 bolt under a 64 c30. The old style rear is hard to find gears for plus the old trucks generally had the parking brake on the trans. Using the newer rear gets ya a parking brake in the rear axle. The old 1.5 ton Fords generally have a large 5 lug bolt pattern. Some Dodge motorhomes also shared that bolt pattern. The rears and wheels will swap over in the old Fords. That also had one piece 19.5 wheels. The rotors could be adapted to the stock axle A few options when ya look around.
