Today I listened to my hit and miss engines. One is 1914 Hercules, the other is a 1934 Maytag. Can’t figure out how to post videos.
When we converted dad's 54 Greyhound we had looked at ways to carry a small get around ride.. thought about cutting the roof off a Honda cvcc to fit underneath.. was easier to just tow the jeep..lol
I love station wagons and over head campers, when the two come together like this, now thats a little piece of heaven
how the hell do you spose they get that around a corner, dont see no articulation or maybe it stretches out when you have go around a corner with it. Oh its in africa and there may be no corners there. Put it on one of them what you call it turn tables like the railroad has and just turn it around and go back the way you came.
The first picture that Anthony posted is a promotional artwork. The trailers pivoted behind a flexible wall on the tow truck
There was a company that built camper trailers in the mid to late 20’s . The pivot for the trailer was a spindle , hub and tire wheel assembly. The tire was held onto the frame of the towing vehicle by clamps . The spindle was attached to the trailer. The idea was the tire would flex and absorb the bouncing of the trailer. I once had a magazine article about it but I’ve filled it away somewhere lol
