What are the "Squirts" on sale in the first picture? A museum in March, Cambridgeshire, UK has an old sign stating that "The sale of squirts in this marketplace is forbidden", but the museum doesn't know what it means. Pete
In this case Squirt is a grapefruit flavored soda and was a favorite of my mother's. It was sold mostly in the western US.

Squirt is a carbonated, citrus flavored soda and because of it’s low sugar formula it became popular as a mixer for alcoholic beverages. I don’t know if that means anything regarding the sign at the museum, especially since “squirts “ is written in lower case. It is still sold in the Chicago area and I’ve enjoyed it since the ‘50’s. As with many sodas it has undergone a change, but I still like it because it is no caffeine.
