One main reason the rebodied Falcon ( Mustang) sold so well was many buyers felt more secure with the engine in the front like a "normal "car.

 

Soupy Sales (remember him?) once said, on his after school children's show: "my girlfriend can't cook but she sure can make a banana cream".

 

One of the funniest T.V. shows remarks like that were common.

the more pictures I see of Corvairs , the more I miss the several I have owned.

I sorta do, too ... I miss them for the $$ I made replacing clutch cables on the cars the gas stations tried to fix. It seems they couldn't be bothered to put those 4 little engine ground straps back where they came from.
