George, I'm sure we did! I was a regular on Van Nuys Blvd making the loop a half dozen times 3-4 times a week. They were great times. I had a nice car and a good looking girlfriend who worked at Bob's. Guaranteed a spot to park there. Ron
I had one! It had a pedal that went down on the floor that made acceleration sounds. Thanks for reminding me.
You must kept a lot more than me 302... I never kept any magazines from back then. We took Look at our home and the AOPA Flying but that was it. When I had subscriptions to Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding and Street Roddert later in life I took them to Doctor and Dentist Offices or work and left them for others to enjoy. I have all the Inliners 12 Port News since I’m #35 but that’s it. I find your ads sometimes comical....JD
^^^^^ JD, all those ads came from magazines given to the family by relatives or neighbors. At 12, I started buying every hot rod or custom type mag I could afford. Still have all of them ... Those early magazine ads are full of text that wouldn't hold up in court ....
There are tons of automotive ads on AACA library site from about 1900. I know because I scanned about 10,000 of them. They made cars low and long in drawings to improve their looks. But yet they condemn hotrodders for doing the same.
