Hey @Bleach ..... Thanks for the Great Depression-era photos. I don't "like" them, but I appreciate them. In modern day America, we tend to lose sight of what others have gone through during our history. That era broke and devastated a lot of lives and families, and their rebound and survival are to be admired and respected. It's hard to imagine what these people did to survive, while the 1%ers replaced their Desenbergs with Lincolns so they didn't seem 'ostentatious'. It's a damned good thing our country had the leaders and a compassionate government to get them through. (not being political, just stating historical fact)
I actually have some experience hand-cranking motors, mostly tractors and pony (starter) motors on Caterpillar tractors. I've said this before a few times. NEVER wrap your thumb around the crank.
I flew to Viet Nam on Braniff Feb. 1967. They claimed no 2 planes were the same color...(like I cared)
