Dodge Polara taillights on that 57 Ford. Easy custom touch in the early sixties. First time I've seen the stock grille bars cut out like that. Not my cup of tea, but custom n eye catching for sure. I've always liked the style of 57 Ford's, just not big fan of Y block compared to Chev small block. Lots of Y blocks had rocker oiling problems. Oil flow went thru hole in cam bearing, as I recall. Small turn of bearing n "tick tick tick" no oil to rockers. ALL the parts houses sold overhead oiler kits for them. Put a brass t-block where oil pressure line came out of engine, then route two small copper lines up to valve covers. One line went under each valve cover n sprayed oil over whole rocker. Problem solved. With that said, I do have a Y block I intend to use to convert my 56 F100 panel truck to V8 someday. 1 more car I promise, Rex Winter Dry n windy Lubbock TX
That is an Hispano Suiza V8 WWI airplane engine. They were dirt cheap war surplus and found their way into race cars, dirt track and some early drag cars. Bob

What I find unusual, Indyrjc, is the front suspension. There are 2 brackets for tube shocks, but no visible use. Looks like a watson but can't find anything about the car. (1963 I believe) It is not in the Watson book.
I do see what I think is a right front shock angled from the axle to the inside of the frame. Someone must have been experimenting with the unused brackets that you noticed.

The Chevy stovebolt sixes also had rocker arm oiling issues,I had to get creative on a freshly rebuilt 235 to get oil to the rockers and while removing valve cover studs from a 53 216 in a local junkyard it had a external oil system going to the head,like with most Y blocks it was lack of oil changes causing the problem and that 216 was nasty.
