On September 12-14, 1939, the “General Motors Parade of Progress” was held at Harrison Field on Davison Road in Lockport, NY. This exposition, also called a “World’s Fair” in the newspapers, featured “interesting exhibits and demonstrations of modern scientific inventions and industrial laboratory research.” The event opened with a parade on the evening of September 12th that began at Darrison Park (Genesee and Walnut Streets) and turned east on Main Street to Washburn Street. The units included the Harrison Radiator Girls’ Drum & Bugle Corps, pictured here on Main Street between Market and Elm Street.
