Jeepster, I've been enjoying your pictures of the Canadian North you have posted, lots of interesting architecture & vehicles, a lot of it reminds me of New England where I grew up. Thanks for taking the time to post them.
Hello, In the early days, this photo was the image that a lot of families saw. Kodak came out with the box Brownie Viewfinder Camera and it was a great point/shoot style that was great for family memories. family camera The nice thing was that anyone could look down into the glass view screen, center the object and push the button. With this early technology, we should have seen a lot more of the “ground” up shots of old cars and teenage gatherings for a different look, than a stare into the camera eye. When anyone got the developed film back in prints, they went into photo albums with those corner tabs to hold each photo in place. Jnaki It was all about the process for remembering family photos in successive days and months. or, for special family memories. Some kids got their own Brownie Camera that was an eye piece view, point/shoot was the only thing to worry about, other than composition. Mostly, it was point and shoot anything, anywhere. The film still rolled to one side and the development usually took a week to get the prints back. The "kids" camera that took great point and shoot photos... but through a horizontal glass viewer. Over the years, it became a standard for most families and their kids to have one or the other of those cameras. For us, it was no camera other than what our dad took with his huge Graflex bellows camera. Our involvement did not start until 1965 with a 35mm film Pentax camera my brother got from our uncle. By 1966, he had moved on to a Nikon camera set up and I was the recipient of the old Pentax Spotmatic camera, which I still have today.. Then the progress move on as recorded in our family history. Today, the “family” cameras (movie & film cameras) are displayed in our granddaughter’s library/stereo shelves/LP collection area of her house. Still in clean, good working condition ...YRMV
