Hello, Ever since finding an old roadster photo in my wife’s family photo arrays sitting in boxes, I have wondered if the front bumper was a standard item or just for roadsters. Her grandfather drove several different kinds of open cars, a Phaeton, a different roadster convertible, etc. in Tennessee, Kansas and of course, OKC. So, when this old photo above, popped up with the smile on its face, well, it was cause for some questions. Back then, it was the usual case of handwriting on the back of the photos, sometimes ruining the old photo as the pencil or pen came through on the other side. But, some of my wife’s photo collection had writing and some did not. Her mother had a distinct swirl to her handwriting that stood out from all of the rest of the labeled photos or even in the old letters or imprints on family albums. Jnaki Early OKC or even earlier in Tennessee The grandfather had a thing for open roadsters or convertible Phaetons. Open road traveling at its earliest for his family road trips back then. From Kansas to Tennessee to OKC and even Texas were on the family itinerary for road trips and housing for the family gatherings. Same style of "big mouth bass" smile facing the traffic... From the old family files of my wife’s grandfather’s early roadster during the OKC time period.
Not sure about other brands but Dodge Brothers had several bumpers available as aftermarket items. They cost around 6 dollars and were available in black or nickel finish.
Don't need google or satnav....Wife Always tells me where to go. and then where to go again after going the wrong way.
