Nope…..the dealership brought out what was needed. She is a hero in my mind…

  10. She screwed herself and 4 kids. No way she didn't have to pay somehow. Broke, 4 kids and deliberately wrecking her only car. Not heroic in any way.

    Hello,

There was a time in So Cal that these little bikes were like ants. They were on every street, in almost every city (coastal or inland portions) we visited during our surf journeys. One actually rode inside of the Flathead Ford Sedan Delivery when a friend called and asked me for a ride to his garage to pick up the little bike and take it to the local mechanic. For the folks that had a little more spending money than others, these little motorcycles were the big thing.

For most others, the Mo-Peds were less expensive and looked similar in style. Of course, no one compares to Ann-Margret in any way or fashion. But, it was the times of movement on the hot Summer nights on a Moped that just made traveling fun from the beach areas to the local gatherings at someone’s house or apartment. The outside curbs were littered with Mopeds and little motorcycles.

What a style of clothes. A warm sweater for those “hot summer nights” but with a moving chill as the speeds went up on the rides. Pedal pusher pants to keep warm and stylish. For the guys, Levis, “tennies” and surf sandals were more appropriate. It was nice to wear only a T-Shirt, but as the speeds and evening wore on, the coastal breeze brought in the local fog and moisture for a “too cool to ride” experience. YRMV

Because I took my friend to his garage and helped get his little motorcycle to the dealer's repair shop, later, he allowed me to use his purchase of a different Moped for a warm summer evening. Pedals and all... It was one of those So Cal warm Summer evenings and it was perfect for cruising around on a Moped. On many corners in Belmont Shore and into the Bixby Knolls areas, other teens were out and about with their versions of less expensive way to travel.

Pedal to start, get in the cruising mode and motor cruise in the same places we always took our hot rods and surf vehicles. Add in the warm Summer night and others with the same idea of being out and about was a fun experience. YRMV

No, we did not see anyone who looked like Ann Margret!!!
