Noooooo, THAT GUY doesn't think 50 to 60 G.M. models were BUBBLE TOPS. THIS GUY only has the opinion that the group from 59 to 62 G.M.s all had the same very similar roof style. To say that 50s Fords should be called BUBBLE TOPS also would then have to include anything with a sunroof/moonroof. Wonder if Ed Roth's Beatnic Bandit or the Big Daddy roadster would be considered (I do remember them because I am 77, still alive owned and drove a 62 BUBBLE TOP Biscayne along with a 59 BUBBLE TOP Buick La Sabre ) Bubble top or are they just your run of the mill domed cars. Sorry for the rant, but I apparently committed a mortal sin in calling a 1960 Impala a BUBBLE TOP.
My Dad was an engineer on the Santa Fe and ran the San Diegan and the Super Chief, I used to ride for free and sometimes sat in the engine and even got to honk the horn, good times for sure.
Look for him on the westbound I-96 Freeway embankment..... Between Merriman and Farmington Rd. That's my guess....
Thank you for the G.M. photos. I have come across these before but the memory is not what it used to be. I wonder if these were 1960 design ideas. They seem to be a cross between the 1959 and 1960 models . I honestly don't like to get into a pissing contest on a place I enjoy to frequent to forget the everyday B.S. Thanks again.
