Gary Witter, lost his life at Oswego Speedway, New York in 1971. Hailing from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada Gary drove supermodifieds for Jimmy Howard (38), of Burlington, Ontario. A few pics of Gary and his racers..
The first photo looks like it could be someone's brand new Edmunds. Is there any info on this shot? The last photo is Art Scovell in a Alfa at Langhorne. Just before and after the war several ex-Grand Prix type cars were raced on some of the dirt tracks. I always wondered if they continued to use a road racing open differential on the dirt. Seems like the car would be a handful if that was the case. Thanks, Rootie.
I believe the car on the right hand side of the picture is a Hudson Hornet. It looks to e have the smaller version of the Hudson Twin H engine. My dad had a maroon Super Jet with a black top which had that engine. As a little tyke I thought that car was the best ever. It had fender skirts and a continental kit.
