Looks like Pat O'Connor, Ed Elisian, and Elmer George at Dayton in 1956. Ed Elisian was the winner in the Zink #8. Note the early roll bar on the Zink car. The story goes that when USAC was formed after AAA quit Jack Zink proposed making roll bars mandatory at one of the early formation meetings for the new club. He was reportedly shouted down by the drivers present who didn't want racing to become so safe that anyone could do it. These guys were generally pretty tough and that was just the mindset at the time.
Stub and Ray Steele, I lived about a mile from this place in the 50s. Spent some time there, my dad knew them very well. They had about 10 acres of junk cars at the time. Place is long gone but it's still called Stub's Corner. About 20 miles west of Pontiac Michigan
