An old Corvair sedan, but not much else or room for larger USA cars... Plus, they were all crazy European drivers... !!! Hello, With the crowded Paris streets during the next weeks of the Olympics, it will be horrendous to be in the center of the city for just about anything. But, as the crowded city goes, there will be some time to ponder the empty streets during the very early morning as the sun just rises. Although, being the Olympics and 24 hour coverage all over the world, perhaps crowded still, even for early risers and visitors. One of the attractions will be the Eiffel Tower and due to the popular beach volleyball games, it will be front and center. The courts will be in front of the tower and that, in itself, will be a jam of major proportions. Jnaki My wife and I enjoyed the mild summer nights just walking around the attractions. If we needed to get to a far away attraction, despite the instructions in French (my wife did not have to use her 3 years of H.S. French and 3 years of college French) on the underground transportation directions, the maps are a “no brainer” situation. They were well laid out in colors and just looking at the map allowed us to pick and choose the destination and return route. After doing our night time foray to the Eiffel Tower, we did not want to take the trains back to our tiny apartment. So, we flagged down a taxi. The taxi turned out to be a dinky Fiat two seater with a sunroof. Luckily the sunroof was pulled all the way back and I could still slide in sideways with plenty of headroom, while my wife was in her front seat. Belts? What belts? It was a dinky toy vs. all of the rest of the fast moving night time drivers… Yikes. We came back one night from visiting the building in the horizon (Sacré-Cœur Basilica) and decided to take some photos from the dinky apartment window ledge. Again, time exposure of varying sorts to get one good photo. Photo 2 from our other 35mm B/W film camera only. After developing when arriving home, the color slide looked better than the black and white time exposure photo. YRMV
