Hello, The amusement park photo had some information as to the Mission Valley San Diego region. But, it also does look like the Belmont Park area in the Mission Beach location. For those that don’t know, the Mission Park area has an amusement park and it is right along the waterfront shoreline. It is a stone’s throw from the large Mission Bay water park area, just off of the main I-5 freeway heading to San Diego downtown and the big bay Harbor. Our dad used to take us down to San Diego for the whole day to spend on the two separate water locations. The Mission Bay lagoon, leading out to the ocean. And the big sprawling San Diego Bay harbor that almost stretches to the Baja, Mexico border. The main port for southern big shipping boats and the huge navy base, including airplanes, helicopters and jets. That center “island” area was always good for an all day visit to watch the take offs and landings. Plus, the beachfront was the nicest beach in all of California, as far as a white sandy beach is concerned. Jnaki But, closer to home, our own Long Beach shoreline had one of the best amusement parks in all of So Cal. At "The Pike" in Long Beach, there were several rides similar in popularity and use. 1947-48 two brothers at the Pike attached circular car ride area. My choice of a hot rod with headers, plus skirts, and flipper hubcaps, vs. my brother’s fire truck in the lead… YRMV
