Those were government cars.... Truman did own a personal car while he was in office. In fact, when he left office, Chrysler Corp gifted him a new Dodge. Also of note.... when he left office there was NO Presidential retirement fund! Congress appropriated a retirement fund for him and all subsequent Presidents. Those Lincolns were used by Eisenhour too.

I heard that Harry arrived in Washington after being elected vice president driving his personal 1946 or 7 Chrysler convertible from Missouri and when he left in 1953 the car was returned out of storage and he and Bess drove it back to Missouri. I can find no photos but it definitely sounds like him. There are photos of him and Bess traveling around the country in 1955 in their black Chrysler 4 door.
