Hello, In 1956, our family went to a Buick dealer in Long Beach, near our old high school. Our dad had purchased several Buick sedans from that dealership on Long Beach Blvd. When we went into the showroom, the Buick Skylark caught my mom’s eye and said it was a nice car for her and us. Our dad poo-poo’d the idea as a safety issue with the convertible top, etc. So, we looked at a large Buick Roadmaster two door sedan. My brother and I liked the Skylark wire wheels and supported our mom. Within a few days, our dad had a nice blue 1957 Buick sedan like the above red sedan sitting in the garage driveway. It was a nice looking sedan. It was the 2nd two door sedan after several large 4 door Buicks purchased earlier. Our family road trip vacations were fun and this new Buick was just itching to go on a long road trio up the coast, across the central portion of California and down the desert area vacation spots. As the year rolled on, we figured out that was going to be the last family road trip car for us. We were now taller than our folks and both of us could last one long road trip, if it were to be the last family trip together. We endured the whole coastal road trip, cross to Yosemite and down to the Crowley Lake/Mammoth Lakes area one last time. It was a tight fit for the two brothers to sit for so long in the back seat. But, our mom loved it. She likes cooking, but for almost two weeks, it was restaurant cooking and no clean ups... Buick in the woods... This last road trip did not include tent camping, instead, a nice cabin in the woods was our home for the last portion of the long vacation. Jnaki It was to be the last time we were in the big blue Buick Roadmaster sedan… by 1963, our dad traded in the blue sedan for a new dark green Buick Riviera cruiser. It was to be the “best one,” yet in long line of Buick sedans… YRMV
