Jim Feurer’s ‘57 Merc powered by a tunnel port 427. The Big Animal name on the car got him tagged with the nickname Animal Jim. He was a regular at Oswego drag strip early on, ran Pro Stocks on the IHRA circuit and eventually went to mountain motored Pro Mods. I imagine he’s in his mid ‘80’s now. He always was a fan favorite and got booked in a lot for match races.

This 1947 image is of a Motorette! This "Made in Buffalo" vehicle was manufactured here by the Motorette Corporation of Buffalo. They were constructed primarily for use in a mile long aircraft plant here but due to their versatility and practicality many other uses were found. The vehicle was powered by a 4.1 cylinder air cooled engine and could go from 39 to 60 mph! Back when dozens of products were made here and shipped all over the world!
