Back in the seventies my twelve year old cousins lived in a small town that had an old bowling alley that didn't have an automatic pin setter or ball return. They had a job where they would sit on a wooden plank above the pins and would have to climb down and reset the pins by hand and roll the ball back after the pins were knocked down. Many times the pins would fly up and smack them in the legs when they were hit. I had all but forgotten about this until I saw this picture.
Looks to be in 1963 although this car ran later. It's a Shelby King Cobra which was actually a Cooper Monaco with a Ford engine. Dave MacDonald had some big wins in this car. His broadslides in this car are legendary to this day. Take a look:
The top photo shows two things that interest me, the first is the focal point building was my High School, Milwaukee Tech and Trade. the second is off to the right of MT&T, in the distance is the Allen-Bradley clock tower. I was employed there for 32 years as a Journeymen Machinist and Modelmaker. Ahhh memories........
