    Also of note,British bomber command lost 55000 lives during the conflict.Another fact,lives lost in flying training amounted to around 14000 for the Brits(includes all us colonials I think)! How many US were lost in the same pursuit of victory?

    A total of at least 74,242 (some records show over 80,000) US Army Air Corps personnel were killed during WWII. At least 26,000 of those were members of the Eight Air Force which was based in England starting in early 1942. These numbers don't include losses of United States Navy aviators.
