Oh Yes!! When slides were made out of metal and wood! No sissies on that ride! Those were the Days! Not this Full size Fisher-Price! Plastic Mamby-Pamby toys they have Now! That’s when you got sliced and diced and had a cool scar to show your buddies! Oh and when little girls wore dresses, and little boys got Panty Shots!
No curtains, no rug, not much furniture Heck, not even much for interior walls, but he's got his family and a gun. See what is of real value here?
Rootie is the first attached photo another URC track? Again, if so, I don't recognize it. And the photo with the midget is front of a government building somewhere is impressive. Any info on this one? The third shot looks to be a Pikes Peak Hill Climb special although that's all I can guess. The final shot shows Jimmy Reece leading Eddie Russo at Langhorne in 1954. The Bob Pankratz built cars like that of Reece were always distinguishable by their lack of a "headrest". Thanks for posting!
The first shot of the sprint cars is at a mid west IMCA race. I can't identify the track either but the outer rail kind of looks like it might be mainly a horse track (?) The midget shot was taken in Nashville where they have a replica of the Greek Parthenon. Don't have any info on the car or driver though. The roadster is a oval track roadster that was raced in the Ind./Ohio area in the 50s. Here's a better shot of it.
