Hello, Los Angeles, San Diego are all at the same latitude as North Africa. So, we do get snow in the higher local mountain latitudes, but not in the cities, except for one year of 1949 all along the Westcoast of the USA. Snow, ankle deep all over the coastlines. (See So Cal snow storm from 1949 on your Google search...) Paris is known to the world recently as the last Olympic venue. But, as North as it is in latitude, it does get cold in the winter. In the summer, it can be mild to hot. The two photos below, portray our experiences in Paris as 20 somethings on a week of hot Summer weather. No, we did not go inside of that glass dome bus with it’s A/C blasting during the drive. We were standing on the curb in our lightest clothing and not noticing it was close to 90 degrees. Sardines on a tour… no, not a rock group… Jnaki We have been in thick snow conditions in the local So Cal mountain range a couple of hours away from the coast. But, that was in deep winter and the Alaskan Winter Storms were hitting So Cal with a fury. The higher the latitude world wide, the colder it can get. So Cal is located in what is known as the Mediterranean Climate Zone. Mild summers, mild winters and pleasant to be all year around. Perhaps, that is why we have been living/playing in this zone since we were toddlers in the 1940s. YRMV
