How many miles of service do you suppose the trucking companies could get out of a little flattie pulling these loads in the day?
24 cylinder, sleeve valve Napier Sabre. Man, I wonder what happened to this. Not a single running example in the world right now. And only a few rebuildable cores in existence. Kermit Weeks In Florida has one or two that fit that description.
Future motocross star and Indy car driver Jeff Ward. He was a terror on that honda minitrail. Pic was probably from 1969 or so most likely at Saddleback Park
The first shot shows CRA star Bob Hogle in the Morales Offy. I guessing about 1963. I don't know who is in the next attached photo but somebody has purpose built looking flathead for the run up Pikes Peak. Looks like it could be in the early 1950s. And the final shot shows Jimmy Bryan at Indianapolis in 1953. This was a rather interesting looking dual purpose car (pavement and dirt) built by Gordon Schroeder I believe. Thanks as always, Rootie!
Don't know much about the #99 PP car but the fellow in the middle with the goggles looks a lot like Louis Unser. Can't find any record of him driving a #99 car so I don't know what, if any, connection he had to it.
Sorry, LB, I knew that you knew what it was. I guess I'm getting to the point where I can only get one train of thot in my head at a time.
