And you would be right. They ran a small sidevalve Ford engine maybe the V8-60? From Wikipedia below: The car was powered by an unusually small 2351 cc sidevalve V8 engine called Aquillon in France, derived from Ford's Flathead engine family, whose displacement positioned the car into the "13 CV" French tax class. Equipped with a two-barrel Zenith-Stromberg 32NX carburetor, it produced 75 hp (56 kW) for the first generation.[5] Power was transferred to the rear live axle through a three-speed manual transmission with column shift. The Vedette had independent front suspension (by MacPherson struts) and drum brakes on all four wheels.[1]

Looks like Part 2 of this thread is even better that Part 1.And to Ryan. Thanks for loosening up the check reins a bit on posting pictures. On the photos of the B24`s.I had the honor of knowing s few gentlemen that flew them and also the B17`s.No talk of the missions, but a lot of talk about the flight character of them. The big "bitch" on the B24 was that every time the nose turret was swing right to left or left to right it would yaw the aircraft. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
Wonder what they are spraying here, a sealer?. That guy on the right's gun is waaaay back off of the car. These were painted with lacquer, I can't imagine that working at that distance.
All Great Photos, Rootie. Thanks! I was able to identify the drivers in all but the first one (?, Rajo Jack, Bill Schindler, Ed Elisian, Bob Harkey).
