I was born in Hollywood, 1939. Went to school here, Hollywood High School and Fairfax High Scchool. I have always lived in the SoCal area, Torrance, Pacific Palisades, Inglewood, Marina del Rey, Westchester, Irvine in the OC, Upland in the IE, and now in Monrovia, about three or four blocks from Don Nicholson's old shop in Arcadia. Sure, it's changed but so what, everything changes over time. The rock music scene is no more, but like fbi9cl said above, the air is clean and there are still tons of street rods on the roads. As far as the price of a home, it's outrageous (and I have owned six homes in SoCal) but you also get an outrageous price when you sell it. The house I was born in, in Hollywood, my parents purchased (2-bedroom, 1 bath), it in 1939, for just a tick under $5,000. After they passed away in 1979 and 1980, I sold it for $750,000. I love the weather here, and I love that it's still the car capital of the U.S. I have traveled all over this nation, for work and for fun. There are some beautiful places here in this country. I have been to Europe numerous times, still have friends that live there. But I will not be leaving SoCal anytime soon, at least as long as I'm alive...
I’m glad my mother gave that name before he became famous.... I’ll lean on it every once in a while..
