Can anyone enlighten me on the Crestliner trim? I remember a green/yellow one down the street when I was a kid about 1963 that had a full scallop on the side that was copied later by the Corvettes of the 50s. The one I remember had a small block Chevy and belonged to an older kid who became a dentist.

Any one have any pictures of Caliente Nevada? It's just a few miles down the road from Pioche. I remember it from a trip we took in the 50's. The town looked like something out of a movie set.

Was I the only kid totally annoyed by the fact that Supercar had no wheels?

My ol' friend Lee Fresquez, may he R.I.P. Circa 1959 at the Cheyenne, WY DragWay that was operated by the Cheyenne Timing Association. Lee's Olds was his pride and joy...never a spec of dirt on it. ~VB

I'd like to see more of this car, looks like a neato early custom.

I wonder if someone can tell me what type of tank this is?

These are some pics my old man took in North Africa with the NZ medical corps attached to the 8th army, he's on the left in the piss drinking pic.
He was a POW for 2 days and said the Germans treated them well but only fed them banana skins

  17. I believe the photo with the sharp looking Don Draper guy has a 1951 Crestliner beside him. It sounds like the trim you're describing is from a 1950 Crestliner.

That tank is an American M3 "General Grant" that was on 'lend lease' to ANZAC forces during WWII.
They were essentially the same as the American M3A5 tank known as the "General Lee' or just as the "Lee" although the ANZAC version was equipped with a lower profile top turret.
They were equipped with a 75MM main gun in the side sponson and a 37mm and a 30cal machine gun in the top turret, had a crew of 6 and was capable of a top speed of 42kmph driven along by either twin General Motors diesels (60446 series 71) or some even had air cooled petrol 6 cylinder Radial motors!!

    Hope that helps,:D:p

Wow, Roadkill, great old junkyard shots! :) I've NEVER seen these before.
Where you got them, did it say WHERE "Pearl Road" was and about WHEN
the first two pix were shot?:confused: And, the second two are totally un-ID'd.
    Anything there?

They are from your neck of the woods. Cleveland.
Kaflaur's on Pearl road photos are from 1938 and the last one is also pearl road.
Looks like they are still in business http://www.pearlroadautoparts.com/gallery.html

The third one is Republic Auto Parts shot in 1950
