Atco, N.J.

 

Those shots from Atco sure bring back memories. The timing stand used to be at the stock pits, the hot pits were on the other side of the track. I grew up in that neighborhood, so when we were kids, me and my buddy learned how to get in for free. We'd walk 40 or 50 yards into the woods at the fence behind the stock pits, lift up the chain link, slide under, and we were in.

Atco is still going strong, still as sandy as the beach, and still surrounded by the beautiful New Jersey Pine Barrens.

The interesting point of interest to me on this photo is the extended length Corvair Greenbrier van that is in the picture.
Factory didn't make any that way........very unusual.
Wish I had a few more angles of that........
