It is a Curtiss Jenny JN-4.
Here is a couple of pics to compare.






That last one is a model, I didn't realise it would be so hard to find good pics of the Jenny!!

Yeah, I think that is a Curtiss Jenny. Over 6,800 were built during the war and used mainly as trainers by the Army Air Corps and the Canadian air service. So, thousands were left over after the war for use as barn-stormers and many civil-aviation roles.



But, jee-whiz, I can't imagine where they got the idea for this famous 1918 stamp!

The porthole windows are exquisite, or over-the-top, depending on what mood you're in when viewing this pic... I'm having a slightly tough time digesting it, although I do find myself compelled to stare... Go figure...

Not the Matterhorn. This is the original Autopia. Note that you could actually steer the cars, no rails like today's version. I think the cars were cooler then too. We went the first summer it opened in '55 and driving these were a real highlight.
