  4. You need to go rent "Best Years of our Lives" or catch it on TCM -- one of the best movies ever made. It was made in 1946 and showed that the planes were being junked as soon as the war was over. In the beginning of the movie, they make the comment "...from the factory to the graveyard!"
     
  5. Double AMEN to that. My favorite part is Bill Holden sitting in the bombardier seat & watching him re-live the missions he flew.

    That was Dana Andrews, not William Holden. Both were great actors though and that was a fantastic movie, one of my favorites.

    Ambar Motors - Havana Cuba - Circa 1955.
    Ambar Motors Building located on "La Rampa"
    at the corner of Infanta and the Malicon in
    Havana. Ambar was the sole distributor of
    Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and Opel cars.in
    Cuba from about 1946, until 1960. The
    Ambar showroom and service department
    was located on the ground floor, while the
    remaining 8 floors of the 9 story Ambar
    Motors Building was commercial office space,
    rented out to various other companies and
    businesses.
