    I got that same Ladder Truck for Christmas in 1955. It is under our tree as I type this.:)

    The same company also made a Pumper that I got the next year. Sadly, it is long gone...:(

    I was thinking the same thing !What idiot male advertiser figured he could sell a woman this thing from this add!If it wasn't used for cooking or actually was a person doing cooking it never got near my moms kitchen at the holidays.
