    I think it is, right below Rising Park? Climb the hill in Rising Park and the racetrack/fairgrounds are right south, I think the round building in the picture is still there.

    They are probably too young to remember thr "Drifters" from Redondo in the early 50's!!!!

    I thought I would finally post a pic to this thread. This is my mother and uncle behind an unknown car. I am guessing this was taken around 1945 in Topeka, Kansas. Can anyone help identify what kind and model this car might be? View attachment 1516557

    I thought Chevy but the ones I saw doing a search had the gas fill on the drivers side. The bumper didn't have the seam in the middle either.

  22. I noticed all these vintage American cars in Europe had their hood ornaments cut down. I think they enforced a law to remove the deadly protruding shapes. My folks told me about this a long time ago. Seems to be confirmed.

    I vaguely remember my honeymoon in catalina,
    but that happened a long time after these shots were taken,
    so i am not as old as these pics,
    always good memories tho :)
